Delhi Capitals (DC) handed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) their 5the successive defeat of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 campaign on Thursday. The defeat didn’t just put KKR’s playoffs qualification hopes into jeopardy but also saw plenty of questions being raised over the manner in which the team is chopping and changing players.
From the struggles of Venkatesh Iyer at the top of the batting order to the constant changing and chopping in terms of player selection, the defeat against the Capitals highlighted many areas of concern in the KKR team. As for Delhi Capitals, Kuldeep Yadav’s magical resurrection remains one of the biggest positives for the season so far.
One of the retentions for KKR ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, Venkatesh Iyer hasn’t lived up to the exceptions for the Knight Riders. Be it as an opening batter or a finisher, Venkatesh has only produced one valuable knock in the entire campaign.
